Hello Internet!

My name is Kyle Belfort and I am the newest member of the Babylon.js team. I joined shortly before Thanksgiving and have been slowly ramping myself up on to the world of 3D and computer graphics. HOLY COW is there a lot to learn!

I come from a web development background and I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be working in this space. I’m not going to lie. It’s a bit overwhelming. But I could not have picked a more friendly and welcoming team to join. Sincerely, I have not been a part of any group that is so passionate about helping one another learn and grow. Everyone (else) is brilliant at their craft and I mean craft. David has instilled a culture of craftsmanship into the team and you can feel it in the atmosphere. I’ve only been working here briefly (fixed a couple of sandbox and playground bugs FTW!) but it is immediately obvious people care deeply about the quality of their work.

Part of that is because our users are always at top of mind. Babylon.js is an open source project so everything we do is public for our users to validate. To me, that is one of the most exciting things about the Babylon.js team! The community engagement feeds our teams’ passion. Everyone is focused on putting our users first. Trust me, every day there is some kind of internal discussion about how we can help address a community need.

I’ve still got a ton more to learn but I’m hoping to deliver some cool new features in the Node Material Editor soon... In the meantime, I am looking forward to interacting with you all on our forum and delivering powerful, beautiful, and simple-to-use 3D web experiences!
